Leanne gained a Bachelor of Laws with first class honours from University of Tasmania in 1982 and was admitted as a barrister and solicitor of the Supreme Court of Tasmania and High Court in 1983. Leanne has experience in a number of areas of law with an emphasis on:- - Civil litigation – particularly personal injury claims
- Motor vehicle accidents
- Medical negligence
- Workers compensation
- Family Law
Leanne is a member of the Guardianship and Administration Board, the North West Advisory Board of the University of Tasmania, the Board of Management of the Tasmania University Union and a member of the Cancer Council Board of Tasmania. She has been a North West representative of the council of the Law Society since 1999, and on the executive committee since 2001. Leanne is a past president of the Law Society of Tasmania and is the Tasmanian representative on the Law Council Recruitment and Retention working group for lawyers in Rural, Regional and Remote areas. Leanne is married with two adult sons and in her spare time enjoys walking, relaxing at Sisters Beach and reading a good book.
