Leanne Topfer

President 2005-2006



Leanne gained a Bachelor of Laws with first class honours from the University of Tasmania in 1982 and was admitted as a barrister and solicitor of the Supreme Court of Tasmania and High Court in 1983.

Leanne has experience in a number of areas of law with an emphasis on:
  • Civil litigation – particularly personal injury claims
  • Motor vehicle accidents
  • Medical negligence
  • Workers compensation
  • Insurance and employment law.
Leanne is a member of the North West Advisory Board of the University of Tasmania and belongs to the Tasmanian Arts Council. She is also a member of the Family Law Practitioners’ Association.

She has been a North West representative of the council of the Law Society since 1999, and on the executive committee since 2001. Leanne is a past president of the Law Society of Tasmania.

Leanne is married with two teenage sons and in her spare time enjoys walking, relaxing at Sisters Beach and reading a good book
